HAYNES PARK UPDATE MAY 2021
Haynes Park continues to follow government guidelines on measures to prevent transmission of covid-19.
Re-opening of local meetings (Satsangs) – Although communal worship has been permitted throughout the winter of 2020/2021, the Board of Trustees took the decision that the Society’s weekly Sunday meetings would be closed for the duration of lockdown; in fact there have been no religious meetings at Haynes Park since March 2020.
However, with the decline of ‘R’ rates and further easing of social restrictions from 17 May 21, our local Satsang Centres including Haynes Park, will re-open from Sunday 23 May 21. This means that members living in the Bedford area can attend a discourse at Haynes Park each Sunday morning as in previous times.
Annual summer event – The annual summer event was cancelled in 2020. This year we are watching the national situation closely before coming to a decision. Though we will not be hosting the number which has been invited in previous years, it is possible that a smaller event could take place, either with social distancing in the main tent, or in an existing structure. We will keep in touch over any development.
Tent replacement building – We are looking forward to making progress with arrangements for the construction of the iconic building which will replace the Tent. But it takes time, and the rest of this year is likely to be taken up with satisfying the planning permission conditions and negotiating infrastructure details. We are very aware that what we plan and do affects many neighbours and will communicate as early and as effectively as possible.
